Get Abs

If you were thinking that you wanted to get abs, then you are not alone. There aren’t many around who wouldn’t swap belly fat for that washboard look. But there aren’t many around who really dig in and work those abdominal muscles until they have rippling rock hard abs across their stomachs. And why is that? It’s too hard. If that’s what you think then lets change those negative thought patterns which lead you nowhere and swap them with some “it’s so easy” thoughts. Below is a list of seven mind changing bits of information that will help you erase the negative to get abs.
1. Set goals – Setting goals helps you to visualize and plan actions to achieve what you want. It’s much easier to commit to a schedule than it is to some desirous thought patterns. Write down what you want (abs), visualize it, write an exercise plan, do the exercises.
People with goals succeed because they know where they are going. It’s as simple as that. – Earl Nightingale
2. Starvation diets don’t work – This principle is where you burn more calories than you eat or drink (a lot more). If your body thinks its getting less food then the fat burners stop and all your fat gets locked in the cupboards and stored there until you start eating properly again. Your body needs energy so it hangs onto whatever energy is left and will begin shedding muscle.
3. Eat six meals a day instead of 3 – Keeping the same kilojoules but split the meals up. This process will force you to speed up your metabolism
4. Abdominals are muscles too – Body builders put pressure on their muscles so that they re build larger to handle the weights the next time. Abdominals are the same. You need to put pressure on them so that they re-build bigger to handle the next session.
5. Include the Bicycle Exercise in your program – a recent study showed that of all the abdominal exercises the Bicycle was the most effective.
6. Use a Swiss (Exercise) ball – Doing crunches only works your stomach muscles. However Swiss ball exercises work your back muscles and your abdominals. They also isolate the ab muscles during sit-up exercises which is more effective.
7. Spot reduction is a myth – Exercising an area of the body where you want to lose fat is called “spot reduction”. The University of Massachusetts did a major study and found that doing abdominal exercise training did not reduce fat or abdominal circumference. To get abs you have to exercise to lose weight over the whole body, not just in one area.
